Staging of play ‘The Lesson’ tomorrow

Mysore/Mysuru: A play, ‘The Lesson,’ jointly staged by Guwahati based Seagull and city’s Baa Srusthi and scripted by Roman-French playwright Eugene Ionesco, will be held at Kiru Rangamandira in Rangayana premises on Hunsur Road at 7 pm tomorrow.

Announcing this at a press meet at Patrakarthara Bhavan here this morning, former Rangayana Director Bhagirathi Bai Kadam said the entry fee for the play is Rs. 50.

The play directed by Bhagirathi Bai Kadam herself, has music by Baharul Islam and Digvijaya Heggodu.

The play, written by Ionesco in 1951, is regarded as an important work in the ‘Theatre of the Absurd,’ said Bhagirathi.

Senior theatre artist H.S. Umesh and others were present at the press meet.
