State BJP Mahila Morcha President asks office-bearers to gear up for Gram Panchayat polls

Mysore/Mysuru: Stating that the Gram Panchayat polls are most likely to take place in October, State BJP Mahila Morcha (the women’s wing of the party) President Geetha Vivekananda has urged the Morcha office-bearers and other leaders to get active in rural areas ahead of the polls.

She was addressing a meeting of the city unit of BJP Mahila Morcha at the party office (Sachin Bhavan) in Chamarajapuram here on Thursday.

Pointing out that there is no polls in urban areas in the next two years, Geetha Vivekananda said that the party workers should utilise this time for building the party right from the Grass-roots level and also make inroads into rural areas, where the party base is not so strong and thus help the party perform well even at the Gram Panchayat level.

Maintaining that the State and Central Governments have come up with several plans, programmes and projects for the welfare and well-being of women, she stressed on the need to deliver them to the doorsteps of all beneficiaries.

She distributed appointment letters to all the new office-bearers of the City Unit of Mahila Morcha on the occasion.

Mysuru Division Party In-charge M.V. Ravishankar said that the BJP is different from other parties and is also the only party that gives power and position  even to grass-root level workers.

BJP Mahila Morcha City President Hema Nandish, General Secretary Nagarathna Gowda, leader Renuka Raju, City BJP President T.S. Srivatsa, State General Secretary and former MLC Siddaraju, leaders H.V.Giridhar, Vaneesh Kumar and others were present.
