State Chess Association Secretary passes away

Bengaluru: Hanumantha Rajanna (63), Secretary of Karnataka State Chess Association and a resident of Bengaluru, passed away at a private hospital here yesterday following brief illness.

He leaves behind his wife Jayanthi, son Anjan and a host of relatives and friends.

Hanumantha Rajanna had also served as the Vice-President of United Karnataka Chess Association, Joint Secretary of All India Chess Federation (AICF) and was also appointed as the Chairman for Events Committee of AICF.

Last rites were performed yesterday in Bengaluru, according to sources.
