Mysuru: Maintaining that the State Government was for hiking job reservation from the present 50 percent to 70 percent, Chief Minister Siddharamaiah said that the hike will be based on the proposal to be made by the Socio-Economic Survey Report.
Speaking to press persons on his arrival at Mandakalli Airport here this morning, the CM said that the Government was looking at the legal options available before it on hiking reservation quota.
McGann Hospital incident
Referring to a video footage showing an aged woman dragging her ailing husband by his feet for shifting him to the scanning room after reportedly being denied wheelchair at McGann Hospital in Shivamogga, the CM only said that he has directed the Shivamogga DHO to probe the matter and submit a report.
Replying to a query on the Congress seeking a no-confidence motion against Legislative Council Chairman D.H. Shankaramurthy, the CM questioned the propriety of Shankaramurthy continuing in office when the BJP had no majority in the upper house.
When asked whether he had held talks with the JD(S) on removing Shankaramurthy, the CM said he will hold talks with the JD(S) leaders on the issue soon.
Asked about Water Resources Minister M.B. Patil performing puja at the birth place of River Krishna at a time when the Government was planning to introduce Anti-Superstition Act, the CM said it was the Minister who may have performed puja on his own and the Government had nothing to do with it.
The CM, who was accompanied by Minister Roshan Baig, was received at the airport by Social Welfare Minister H. Anjaneya, MP R. Dhruvanarayan, MLA Kalale Keshavamurthy, DC D. Randeep, City Police Commissioner Dr. A. Subrahmanyeswara Rao, SP Ravi D. Channanavar and others.
Dr. G. Parameshwara arrives in city: KPCC President Dr. G. Parameshwara, who recently quit as Home Minister, landed at the Mandakalli airport by a special helicopter minutes before the CM arrived and left for Suttur.
