State Junior Athletic Championships: Mysuru athletes excel

Mysuru athletes in the junior boys and girls (U-20, U-18, U-16, U-14) excelled in the Karnataka State Junior Athletic Meet held at Udupi recently.

The Mysuru athletes totally won 11 golds, 11 silver and seven bronze medals and finished with a tally of 29 medals.

V. Ambika won the gold in girl’s U-20 shot-put. Rahul Nayaka won the gold in 800m in boys U-16 section. Likitha Yogesh won gold in discus-throw in girls U-16.

Mohit N. Raj won gold in discus-throw in boys U-18 section. Saqlain Ahmed won the silver medal in discus-throw in boys U-20 section.

Danic won silver in boys U-18 section. Harshitha won silver in girls U-16 200m. R. Sugosh won bronze in discus-throw U-16. Harshini won bronze in girls U-20 section.

Maurya Ganapathy won gold in U-16 boys shot-put. Trishaa won the bronze medal in the girls U-18 hurdles and long-jump events.

Pooja won the silver in javelin-throw in girls U-20 years. Mohit N. Raj won bronze in shot-put in boys U-18 section. Sushma secured gold medal in discus-throw in girls U-20 section.

Anand Preeth Singh won silver medal in 400m, while Deepak Jadhav won bronze in 400m in U-18 boys section.

Rahul Kashyap won gold in boys U-20 shot-put. Manush won silver in boys U-20 shot-put.

Brunda S. Gowda (new meet record – 13.41m ) won gold in girls U-16 shot-put. Likitha Yogesh won silver while Riya won bronze in girls U-16 shot-put.

Peter won gold in 400m Hurdles in boys U-18 section. Vagesh won silver in decathlon in boys U-18, while G. Akash won bronze in boys U-18 decathlon.

Aryan won gold in pentathlon in U-16 boys. Damodar won gold in 2000m steeple-chase boys U-18. Shashank won silver in 3000m steeple-chase for boys U-20.
