State Level Dasara Open Chess Championship: Three players share lead

Three players, V.P.S. Darshan, M.P. Ajith and A. Balkishan shared the lead with five points from five rounds in the Open section on the inaugural day of the two-day State-Level Dasara Chess Championship 2017, conducted by MDCA jointly with the DYES and Dasara Sports Committee at the Chamundi Vihar Stadium here this morning.

In the women’s section, three players, Kushi M. Hombal, C.T. Anamika Menon and H.R. Manasa share the lead with four points from four rounds.

Results: Men’s – Open Category: 5th Round: C. Pavan (4) lost to A. Balkishan (5), Ajith (5) bt Seshadri (4), T. Amith (4) lost to Darshan (5), L. Vivekananda (4) drew with D. Arun (4), M. Shivanth  (4.5) bt N. Rakesh (3.5), Bhadri Nilesh (3.5) drew with Khushal Sethiya (4), V. Mohith (3) lost to Srinivasa (4), N. Venkatesh Babu (3) lost to Rajath Gururaj (4), N.C. Gambir (3.5) drew with Akshay Srivathsa (3.5), Chinmay Kowshik (4) bt S. Abhi Nayak (3).

Women: 4th Round: Manasa (4) bt Prasiddhi Bhat (3), Pranitha (3) lost to Khushi M. Hombal (4), Anamika Menon (4) bt Hemadri Satish (3), J. Architha (2) lost to Eshanvi (3.5), Vindya Sridhar (3.5) bt Dhatri Umesh (2), Priyanka Narayan (3) bt S. Meghana (2), K. Vidya (3) bt Anandini Mishra (2), Spoorvika (3) bt K. Deeksha (2), Diya Sailal (3) bt G. Pranitha (2), M. Yashaswini (3) bt Diya Umesh (2).
