State-level Executive Committee meet of Youth Congress held in city

February 29, 2020

Mysore/Mysuru: Maintaining that the Congress party stands for Equality, Social Justice and Constitutional Rights, senior Congress leader and former Minister Dr.H.C. Mahadevappa stressed on the need for organising the party at all levels.

Speaking after inaugurating the one-day State-level Executive Committee meeting of Karnataka Pradesha Youth Congress at Congress Bhavan near the city Railway Station here on Thursday, Dr.Mahadevappa claimed that people of the country were living in fear under BJP rule.

Stating that the country got freedom due to the struggles of great leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Patel and Jawaharlal Nehru, he alleged that Prime Minister Modi was misusing his massive mandate for an autocratic majoritarian rule.

Accusing the BJP Government of undemocratically implementing citizenship laws such as CAA, NPC and NPR, he said that the BJP was testing the patience of the people at a time when the poor and oppressed sections of the society were struggling to lead a life.

Highlighting the need for bringing back the Congress to power in the interest of the country, he asked the Youth Congress activists to wholeheartedly engage themselves in party organisation and thus catapult the party to power both at the State and Centre.

He further said that the KPCC and AICC would be always supportive of Youth Congress in party activities.

Karnataka Youth Congress Committee President Basavanagouda Badarli, City Congress President R.Murthy, District President Dr. B.J.Vijaykumar, Youth Congress office-bearers Shivakumar, Ibrahim Khalilullah, Mohsin Khan, Ravindra Das and others were present.
