State-level Hackathon in city on Nov. 1 and 2

Mysuru: Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) is an initiative of the Ministry of Human Resource and Development (MHRD) to promote innovation culture and to nurture young minds. A local chapter of IIC has been constituted at JSS Science and Technology University (formerly SJCE). 

The office-bearers and Student Council members of IIC JSS STU have hosted various competitions and events in order to achieve the vision of this Council. After hosting successful events like Ideathon, Know Your Problem (KYP) and entrepreneurial talks at the College and District-level, IIC JSS STU  is hosting a “24-hour State-level Hackathon” on Nov. 1 and 2. 

The hackathon is aimed to harness the potential of all innovative minds across the State and to get the best out of them. Both hardware and software streams are made available and students are free to choose either of them. Both the streams will be judged and awarded separately. 

The competition requires students pursuing B.E/B.Tech, M.Tech, BCA or MCA to participate in teams of 3-5 to solve a given problem statement within a span of 24 hours. All basic facilities including food and accommodation will be arranged for all the participants. The winners will be awarded cash prizes adding up to Rs. 80,000, certificates, coupons and other goodies.

Dr. Anurag Srivastava, Chief Operating Officer, Society for Innovation & Development, Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, will be the chief guest for the prize distribution ceremony.  Vice-Chancellor of JSS Science and Technology University Prof. L.
