State to get 160 more medical seats this year

Bengaluru: In some good news for medical aspirants, the State will get 160 more MBBS seats under Government quota this academic year (2022).

The National Medical Commission (NMC) has granted approval for admission to new courses at Chikkaballapur Government Medical College. This apart, the NMC, has also approved admission of 150 students for MBBS course at a Private Medical College in Mangaluru, out of which the admission to 60 seats will be under Government quota. At present, more than 8,000 MBBS seats are available at 48 Medical Colleges in the State.

Meanwhile, it is learnt that the counselling for medical seats will commence from Jan.27 and will continue till Mar.31.
