State Transport Corporations restrict ads of Tobacco products

Mysore/Mysuru: Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy has ordered a State-wide ban on direct and indirect tobacco product advertising across buses and bus stops managed by State Transport Corporations — Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC), Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC), North West Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (NWKRTC) and Kalyana Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (KKRTC).

In a directive issued to the officials of the Corporations, the Minister has said that the new directive must be enforced immediately in public interest.

Ramalinga Reddy has also directed officials concerned to ensure such existing advertisements are removed within a fixed time frame.
