Stationary mini bus destroyed in fire at J.P. Nagar

February 20, 2020

Mysore/Mysuru: A mini bus that was stationed on the roadside on J.P. Nagar-Gorur Road at Nachanahallipalya has been destroyed in an accidental fire on Tuesday late night.

One Hussain had obtained the bus on sub-lease from another person for painting. After painting half of the bus, he had parked the mini bus on the roadside when it caught fire on Tuesday late night.

Fire Officer Panditaradhya told SOM that Saraswathipuram Fire Station, which received a call from a member of the public at about 1.15 am, rushed to the spot, doused the fire and prevented it from spreading to other vehicles parked next to it. But by the time they (Fire personnel) arrived, the mini bus was charred.

Panditaradhya said that some miscreants, who lit a cigarette may have thrown the burning match stick to the dry grass on the roadside, which resulted in the mini bus catching fire and getting destroyed.

Vidyaranyapuram Police said that no complaints have been lodged in this regard.
