Steps taken for casting vote through postal ballot

Mysuru: As per the direction of Election Commission of India, necessary steps have been taken for officers and staff deputed for election duty to exercise their franchise on Assembly election day through postal ballot.

The Returning Officer of respective Assembly Constituency has been entrusted the responsibility to take care of the postal ballot.  In that context a designated officer in every Constituency has been appointed as Nodal Officer to take care of postal ballot. Similar Nodal officers have also been appointed in the offices of Police Superintendent, City Police Commissioner, Chief Superintendent, Central Jail and KSRTC for postal ballot.

A help desk has been opened at the office of Returning Officer in every Constituency for providing information on postal ballot.

People eligible for postal ballot should submit the application in Form 12 along with voter ID details to the corresponding Returning or Nodal Officer before Apr.30.
