Stir for religion tag will continue: M.B. Patil

Vijayapura:  The agitation for separate Lingayat religion tag which remained dormant for a couple of months post Assembly polls, is all set for a re-start again, with Babaleshwar MLA and former Minister M.B. Patil saying that there was no question of giving up the agitation for a separate religion tag for Lingayats. Speaking to press persons hare yesterday, M.B. Patil said that the future course of the agitation would be charted out once former IAS officer S.M. Jamdar returns from foreign tour, at a meeting to be attended by Legislative Council Proterm Chairman Basavaraj Horatti and others.

The former Minister also refuted claims made by JD(S) Supremo and former PM H.D. Deve Gowda on the contributions of Lingayat CMs to the development of North Karnataka.
