Street plays on crimes against women and children from tomorrow

An initiative of City Police

Mysuru: As part of Crime Prevention Month, the City Police in association with Rural Literacy and Health Programme (RLHP), has organised street plays at various places in city from tomorrow till Dec.30.

It is aimed to create awareness among people on increasing crimes against women and children. The inaugural play was staged recently at Chikkagadiyara near Devaraja Market. The line-up of venues of street plays, dates and time is as follows:

Time: 9 am to 11 am

Dec. 26: K.R. Hospital premises and City Bus Stand.

Dec.27:  Mission Hospital Circle and Private Bus Stand near RMC; Dec. 28: Sub-Urban Bus Stand and Old Guzari, Geetha Mandira Road.

Dec.29: Agrahara Circle, JSS Hospital premises, Nanjumalige Circle; Dec.30: Near Government School, Belawadi, Hootagalli Circle, Hinkal.

Time: 3 pm to 6 pm

Dec.26: Nimra Mosque Ground, Udayagiri, Tent Circle, Kyathamaranahalli.

Dec.27: Teresian College Circle, Dasara Expo Grounds.

Dec.28: Maruti Circle and Kurimandi, N.R. Mohalla.

Dec. 29: Nachanahalli Palya, Silk Factory Circle, Maruti Tent Circle, T.K. Layout.

In addition to that, Ashodaya Academy has organised a meeting of sexual minorities, transgenders and sex workers on Dec.28 at 11.30 am at Ashoka Circle in Krishnamurthypuram to create awareness on human trafficking. The valedictory programme on Dec.30 at 5 pm at Police Bhavan would feature an awareness programme on Child Marriage Prevention Act for members of Kalyana Mantapa Owners Association.
