‘Stressed out’ forest staff take to volleyball

August 18, 2017

Forest officials and guards, who spend most of their time in protecting wild animals and the forest, participated in the volleyball tournament organised at the Bandipur Forest Campus, yesterday.

Inaugurating the tournament, Bandipur Project Tiger Director Ambadi Mahadevu said that the officials and guards were working round-the-clock saving the forest and added the with participating in such activities would keep them strong and reduce their stress.

This is the first time that a tournament was organised for forest guards, range officers, DRFOs, watchers and drivers. Mahadevu also felt such events would also bring the workers closer to each other as they work in different ranges and said that similar events would be conducted once in every three months.

Visitors from neighbouring Tamil Nadu and Kerala enjoyed the volleyball tournament.

ACF Anthony S. Mariyappa, RFO Govindaraju, DRFO Anil and staff were present.
