Student Council for 2018 installed at St. Joseph’s College of Education

Mysuru: “Teachers are the bridge between knowledge and education,” said Dr. S. Srikantaswamy, Director, College Development Council, University of Mysore.

He was speaking at the installation ceremony of Student Council for the academic year 2018-19 at St. Joseph’s College of Education, Mysuru recently.

Stressing on the importance of value oriented teachers in today’s education system, he highlighted the influence of Indian art, literature, science and education in the world and also emphasised the importance of knowledge and the leadership qualities essential for a teacher. He also handed over the badges to various office bearers.

Delivering the Presidential address, Rev. Fr. Vijay Kumar, Secretary and Correspondent of Mysore Diocesan Educational Society (MDES) stressed on Servant-hood, qualities of a leader and teacher’s role as a leader in transforming the society for the better future of the nation.

The members of the student council took the oath and pledged to abide by the rules and regulations of the college and work for the welfare of all the students and the management.

Chairman of the student council Fr. Antony Marshall, addressed the students and spoke about the importance of student council in the college and thanked everyone for electing the student council members democratically.

Prof. Mani Mathew, CEO of St. Joseph’s Colleges, graced the occasion. Dr. Priya Mathew, Principal of the college welcomed the gathering and S. Sangeetha, Secretary of the student council proposed the vote of thanks.
