Student killed as bike rams into road divider

Mysore/Mysuru: A 20-year-old student was killed while the pillion rider sustained injuries, when the bike they were riding rammed into a road divider in front of Jaladarshini Guest House on Hunsur Road in the wee hours of Nov. 11.

While the deceased student is Srihari Gowda of Kuppe village in Saligrama taluk, the injured pillion rider is K.N. Varun of the same village.

On Friday at about 2.30 am, the duo were proceeding on a Royal Enfield bike (KA-09-HX-8963), when they lost control of the bike, which rammed into the road divider resulting in Srihari’s head hitting the electric pole in the middle of the road divider and sustaining serious head injuries.

Srihari was being rushed to a hospital where he breathed his last midway. Varun has escaped with minor injuries. V.V. Puram Traffic Police, who have registered a case are investigating.
