Student killed in road accident

Mysuru: In a tragic incident, an SSLC student was killed on the spot when the scooter he was riding was knocked down by a school bus in city this morning.

The deceased has been identified as Nitin S. Raj (16), son of Satish, a resident of Raghavendranagar in the city.

Nitin, a student of Vidya Vikas High School, was returning home on a Yamaha Scooter after attending tuition, when a school mini bus (Swaraj Mazda), fatally knocked him down near Giriyabovipalya gate on Mysuru-Bannur Road at about 7.30 am.

Siddarthanagar Traffic Police who rushed to the spot, conducted mahazar and shifted the body to MCC&RI mortuary.

Nitin’s body will be taken to his native village Yashodarapura in Hunsur taluk for the last rites, according to family sources.
