Students demand free bus passes for all communities

Mysuru: The members of the AIDSO and AIDYO staged a protest here yesterday demanding bus passes for students belonging to all communities.

Gathering in front of the DC’s office, the members said hitherto only SC/ST students were being given free bus passes and urged that this facility should be extended to students of all communities.

There will be classes throughout the year for students studying in degree, diploma, engineering and semester courses. All such students should be given free bus passes and also the money should be refunded to students who already have bought the passes, they demanded.

AIDYO State Unit President M.V. Umadevi, District Unit Secretary Sunil, State Samithi Member Harish, AIDSO District Unit President Basavaraju, Vice-President Akash, Secretary Chandrakala, Treasurer Asea Begum and students from different colleges participated in the protest.
