Mysore/Mysuru: Degree students of various Colleges, seeking postponement of exams staged a protest under the banner of All Indian Democratic Students Organisation (AIDSO) in front of Crawford Hall in city on Monday.
The protestors said that the degree classes had commenced just two months ago and the lessons have not been completed in any of the subjects so far. “The decision of the University of Mysore (UoM) to hold examinations is causing anxiety to us. Without giving us time to prepare for exams, they are planning to hold the examinations in haste which is totally an anti-student move. Semester classes should been held for four months. Holding exams after just two months of classes is a disadvantage for students,” they added.
Stating that Maharaja’s College was used to hold election rallies which have affected classes, the students urged the UoM authorities to postpone the exams and also give gap between examinations.
AIDSO District President Subhash, office-bearers Nitin, Chandrika, Chandana, Hema, Rakshita students Chetan, Nagaraj, Vijay, Raju, Suhail, Santosh, Shivu and others participated in the protest.
