Mysuru: Students of various High Schools and members of women Self Help Groups of Yelwal hobli formed a human chain at the hobli headquarters on Friday as part of voters awareness drive organised by the District-level and Taluk-level Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) Committee.
They appealed the voters including first time voters to come to Polling Booths to vote in Lok Sabha Polls-2019.
They also circulated hand bills with slogans “Your Vote, Your Right” besides urged to compulsory vote. They appealed people to take pledge to vote on April 18 LS polls.
SVEEP Committee Members have also conducted Mock Polling through Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) and educated voters on Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT).
They presented street play, folk songs sensitising the mass on the success of democracy and took out a jatha in various villages of the hobli.
Mysuru Taluk Panchayat Executive Officer C. Lingarajaiah flagged off the jatha.
SVEEP Committee Secretary Krishna, Assistant Director of Fisheries Mahadevu, Assistant Director of Horticulture Dinesh, Child Development Programme Officer (CDPO) Kumar, Yelwal Government High School Head Mistress Prabha and others were present during the voters awareness drive.
