October 5, 2018

Mysuru: The sudden death of 50 sheep at Badaganahalli village in the taluk has shocked the shepherds who had brought the flock from Shira taluk in Tumakuru district.

It is learnt that the shepherds after bringing the flock had halted in Badaganahalli village where 50 sheep died suddenly and many in serious condition.

Animal Husbandry Department Deputy Director Dr. Ajith and staff, who rushed to the spot, inspected the dead sheep and have collected samples which have been sent to the Veterinary Science Department for testing.

It is suspected that the sheep may have died of poisoning or due to some illness. The exact cause for the death would be known only after the conduct of post-mortem.
