Sugarcane laden truck falls on car: 3 of a family killed

Chamarajanagar: Three of five persons belonging to the same family were killed while two others sustained serious injuries when a truck carrying sugarcane fell on the car at Dimbam Ghat in Chamarajanagar border on Tuesday.

The deceased are said to be from Erode in Tamil Nadu and more information is awaited.

The five occupants of the car were on their way to Chamundi Hill in Mysuru and the sugarcane laden truck was proceeding from Talawadi towards Sathyamangala.

The truck driver lost control of the vehicle on hairpin bend No. 27 on Dimbam Ghat which fell on the car carrying five persons. This resulted in three occupants of the car getting killed and two sustaining serious injuries.

The injured have been admitted to a hospital at Sathyamangala. Tamil Nadu’s Asanur Police have registered a case.
