Mysore/Mysuru: Vid. M.G. Ranganath will be presenting a vocal concert at the heritage house of Mysore Vasudevacharya in the city on Sunday (June 29) at 10.30 am.
He will be accompanied by Vid. Rupangudi Ratna Teja on violin, Vid. G.S. Ramanujam on mridanga and Vid. V.S. Ramesh on morching.
Profiles: Vid. Ranganath had his initial training in music from his father Vid. M. Gopalakrishna. He had his further training from Vidu. Pushpa Srinivasan. He received scholarships for training in vocal and also mridanga from the Government of Karnataka and the NCERT.
A graded artiste of AIR, he has given several concerts across the State and in the United Kingdom, including one in the London International Arts Festival. He is an IT engineer by profession.
Vid. Rupangudi Ratna Teja has learnt violin from Sri Ashok Gurujale and Vid. Peri Sree Ramamurthy. Vid. Ramanujam and Vid. Ramesh, both from the famed PGL school, are senior percussionists with decades of stage experience.
