Supreem Pharmaceuticals employees conduct cleaning drive, give new look to road

March 22, 2021

Mysore/Mysuru: Supreem Pharmaceuticals, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activity under Swachh Bharat Mission, conducted a cleaning drive and gave a new look to nearly one kilometre stretch of the road in Nanjangud Industrial Area on Mar. 14.

More than 130 employees took up the cleaning drive of the stretch of the road from its factory up to Mysuru-Ooty Main Road during which heaps of garbage on either side of the road were cleaned and about two tonnes of waste collected.

S.N. Rao, Supreem Pharmaceuticals Managing Director S.N. Rao said “This was our long pending initiative. Due to COVID-19 pandemic, we were not able to take up the cleaning drive. 130 employees, who took part in the drive, were divided into 13 groups of 10 members in each group. We are confident that this initiative will go long way in setting up good precedent in the industrial surroundings. In the days to come, we have also planned more such activities including our annual diabetic camp at various villages.  For the past many years, the factory under its CSR fund, not only conducted free diabetic camps in many villages, but also provided free tablets to those deserving people.”

Deputy Manager N. Shashidhar said, “To start with, the place where we regularly visit including our area where we work should be kept clean. Though we have lot of programmes to develop co-ordination with each other, this sort of external work will go a long way. It really improves team relation. Hence we request our management to conduct such event at regular intervals. These sort of events will also enable other companies to take up in their respective areas and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dream of Swachh Bharat can be fulfilled.”
