Suspended prison officials replaced by rough & tough Cops

Bengaluru: In a damage control exercise after facing severe embarrassment over the VIP treatment offered to Sandalwood actor and murder accused Darshan, the photo and video of which went viral recently, the State Government has deputed other Officers in place of nine officials of Parappana Agrahara Central Prison, who were suspended in the  wake of the controversy.

The rough and tough officers known for their integrity like; K.C. Diyashree, who was serving as DIG Prisons in Mysuru has replaced DIG Prisons Somashekar and K. Suresh has been deputed in the place of V. Sheshamurthy, the Chief Superintendent of Parappana Agrahara Central Prisons, following the Government order.

That apart, the Karnataka State Industrial Security Force (KSISF) personnel had been deployed at Parappana Agrahara jail, without whose permission, the entry to jail is restricted.

Over 100 personnel including one Assistant Commandant and two Inspectors are on security duty at the jail. 

For the last six years, KSISF Inspectors Balagangadhar and Shankarappa had been supervising the security arrangements at this jail. The KSISF personnel were entrusted with the task of screening the visitors at the check point, main gate and also were put on watch and guard duty at the Watch Tower. They were also inspecting the groceries supplied to the jail, along with several other articles. Besides, the KSISF personnel were frisking all the jail officials and staff during their entry and exit hours.

Hence, before subjecting the jail staff to enquiry, preparations are being made to enquire KSISF personnel, it is said.
