Bengaluru: Governor Vajubhai Rudabhai Vala has appointed four members, including Suttur Seer Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji’s younger brother S.P. Shadakshari Swamy, an IAS officer as members of Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC).
The other appointees are Dr. Ravi Kumar, personal physician of Chief Minister Siddharamaiah for over two decades and who is currently serving as the Superintendent of State-run K.C. General Hospital at Malleshwaram in Bengaluru, Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) Environment Officer R. Lakshminarayana and advocate Srikant Rao.
IAS officer Shadakshari Swamy is currently serving as the Commissioner, Religion and Charitable Endowment in Bengaluru while advocate Srikanth Rao was associated with Congress in Raichur District. Both Lakshminarayana and Srikanth Rao are said to be close to the Chief Minister.
The Government had recommended these names to the Governor in August this year. But the Governor sent back the list, directing the government to get Cabinet approval. The Chief Minister’s office later forwarded the list to the Governor, clarifying that the Cabinet had authorised the CM to recommend the names for appointment.
