Mysuru: A two-wheeler rider who was seriously injured after a Mahindra Thar SUV rammed into his electric scooter on Gokulam Main Road in V.V. Mohalla on Oct. 29, succumbed to his injuries at a private hospital in the city this morning.

The deceased is M.Y. Jagadish (42), a resident of Tilaknagar.

On the afternoon of Oct. 29, Jagadish had left home on his electric scooter (KA-05-LV-7589) to attend a parent-teacher meeting at Nirmala Convent, where his daughter was studying.

While he was proceeding along Gokulam Main Road, a Mahindra Thar SUV (KA-10-M-6663), reportedly driven by Chinmay, allegedly came from a cross road at high speed and rammed into his scooter. The SUV also hit a car (KA-09-MK-7422).

The impact was severe, breaking the scooter’s front wheel and detaching the SUV’s front left wheel.

Jagadish suffered serious injuries to his legs and other parts of the body and was rushed to a nearby private hospital. He was admitted to the ICU but succumbed to his injuries early this morning.

The body was shifted to the Mysore Medical College and Research Institute (MMC&RI)  mortuary for post-mortem examination and later handed over to his family members.

The V.V. Puram Traffic Police, who have registered a case, are investigating.
