SVEEP Committee holds voting awareness programme at MCCI

April 19, 2024

Mysore/Mysuru: With the Lok Sabha polls just a week away, the District SVEEP (Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation programme) Committee, in association with the Department of Industries and Commerce, held a voting awareness programme for office-bearers of various Associations and Organisations coming under Mysore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) at MCCI office on Devaraj Urs road here yesterday.

Speaking on the occasion, Department of Industries and Commerce Joint Director T. Dinesh said that Associations and Organisations should motivate the workers and others to exercise their franchise on the polling day (Apr. 26).

Highlighting the importance of voting, he said the SVEEP Committee has reached out to 12,000 workers working in Large and Medium Scale industries. But it is difficult to visit all Small Scale industries and as such the concerned should motivate the workers serving in these industries to compulsorily cast their vote.

An oath on voting was administered on the occasion. MCCI President K.B. Lingaraju, Secretary Shivajirao, Treasurer Ashok, Hotel Owners Association President C. Narayanagowda, Devaraja Market Tenants Association President Mahadev, office-bearers of various Associations R. Manjunath, S. Kumaraswamy, S. Radhakrishna, N. Mallesh, G.
