Swadeshi Expo from tomorrow

Mysuru: Swadeshi Jagaran Manch, Mysuru, has organised a five-day Swadeshi and Organic Farming Expo-2018 at Maharaja’s College Grounds here from tomorrow. The expo will be inaugurated on Jan.11 at 6 pm, which will be followed by a music programme by Sriharsha and troupe from 7 pm to 9 pm.

On Jan. 12, Kabbadi competition will be held for High School students from 10.30 am to 12.30 pm followed by Rangoli competition for women (3 pm to 5.30 pm). Yoga demo will be held from 5.30 pm to 6 pm and a lecture on ‘Swadeshi Andolanada Mahatva’ by K. Jagadish, State Organiser of Swadeshi Jagarana Manch (6.15 pm to 7 pm). A cultural programme by Vanavasi children will be held from 7 pm to 9 pm.

On Jan. 13, singing competition, solo music (non-film songs) for degree students will be held from 11 am to 12.30 pm followed by drawing and painting for Primary and High School students from 2.30 pm to 4.30 pm — 1st to 4th std. – Nature, 5th to 7th std. – Legends (Mahapurusharu) and for 8th to 10th std. – Ancient Temples.

The play ‘Plastic Bhoota’ by Gopalaswamy High School students will be staged from 5.30 pm to 6.30 pm followed by a lecture by Dr. Jayaprakash  on ‘Namma Hemmeya Bharata’ from 6.15 pm to 7 pm. Yakshagana ‘Vaali Sugriva Kaalaga’ by Sri Mahalingeshwara Moodalapaaya Yakshagana artistes will be staged from 7 pm to 9 pm.

On Jan. 14, Ayurveda Camp will be held from 10.30 am to 12.30 pm. Yakshagana ‘Mahishasura Mardhini’ by the students of Deepa School will be staged from 5.30 pm to 6.30 pm. Prof. B.M. Kumaraswamy, Economist and National Co-organiser of Swadeshi Jagarana Manch, will talk on ‘Apanagadikaranada Nantharada Bharatada Arthikathe’ from 6.15 pm. Puppet Show on ‘Sathyaharishchandra’ by Shivabuddhi and Thammannachar and troupe will be held from 7 pm to 9 pm.

The valedictory will be held on Jan. 15. Yakshagana ‘Bhakta Markandeya’ by Deepa School students will be held from 5 pm to 6 pm. Valedictory address will be by Kashmiri Lal from 6 pm to 7.30 pm; an evening of folk songs by Gururaj Hosakote from 7 pm to 9 pm.
