SWR Mysuru celebrates 70th Railway Week

DRM presents Rail Seva Puraskar, Appreciation Awards-2025

Mysore/Mysuru: The Mysuru Division of South Western Railway (SWR) celebrated the 70th Railway Week at the Chamundi Club in Railway Quarters premises  in Yadavagiri recently.

The celebration was inaugurated by Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), Mysuru, Mudit Mittal.

During the event, the prestigious Rail Seva Puraskar (RSP) 2025-26 and DRM Appreciation Awards-2025 were presented to employees in recognition of their outstanding service, dedication and valuable contributions towards the efficient functioning and growth of Indian Railways. A total of 22 employees received the Rail Seva Puraskar, while 55 employees were honoured with DRM Appreciation Awards.

Also, a felicitation ceremony organised by South Western Railway Women’s Welfare Organisation (SWRWWO), Mysuru Division, honoured retired and senior railway employees for their exemplary service and long-standing commitment.

On the occasion, various Best Maintenance and Performance Shields were awarded. Chikkajajur Station in Chitradurga district received the Best Maintained Major Station Shield while Honnavalli Road Station in Tumakuru district was awarded the Best Maintained Minor Station Shield. Shivamogga Railway Colony and Molakalmuru Railway Colony were recognised as Best Maintained Major and Minor Colonies respectively.

The Best Maintained Rake Shield was awarded to Rake No. 16217/18 (Mysuru-Sainagar Shirdi Weekly Express), and Subramanya Road Running Room received the Best Maintained Running Room Shield. Chitradurga was honoured with the Best Maintained Traction Sub Station (TSS) Shield as well as the Best Maintained SSE/Signal Section Shield.

Hassan Section received the Best Maintained SSE/Tele Section Shield while Sakaleshpura was awarded the Best Maintained Accident Relief Train Shield. The Innovation Shield was conferred upon Traction Operations (TRO). The Office of Mechanical Department, Mysuru was recognised with the Best Maintained Office Shield and SSE/P.Way/Krishnarajanagar received the Best Maintained P. Way Section Shield. Rail Madad War Room was awarded for the Best Departmental Control.

On the occasion,  students of Lalitha School, Mysuru, presented cultural programmes,  adding vibrancy to the celebrations.

The 70th Railway Week celebration was attended by Additional Divisional Railway Manager Shammaa Hameed, along with branch officers, recognised unions and associations, members of SWRWWO/Mysuru Division, employees, awardees, their family members and other railway staff.

In his address, Divisional Railway Manager, Mysuru, Mudit Mittal congratulated the awardees and appreciated the dedication of railway employees.

He emphasised the importance of safety, punctuality, teamwork and encouraged the staff to continue striving for excellence and contribute to the growth of Indian Railways.

The celebration reflected the South Western Railway Mysuru Division’s continued commitment towards recognising excellence, fostering innovation and motivating employees for dedicated service to the nation through Indian Railways.
