Mysuru: Ganabharathi, Mysuru, has organised Tala-Maddale episode ‘Sri Krishna Sandhana,’ penned by Poet Sri Devidasa, presented by Ghatak Yaksha Samskriti Pratisthana of Bengaluru on Aug. 7 at 6 pm at Ganabharathi’s Veene Seshanna Bhavan, Adichunchanagiri Road, Kuvempunagar.

Eminent artistes Anant Hegde Dantalige (Bhagavatar), Anantha Padmanabha Ghatak (maddale), Diwakar Hegde Kerehonda (Sri Krishna), Vid. Narayana Desai, Mysuru (Vidhura) and Vid. Ganapathi Bhat, Sankadagundi (Duryodhana) will perform.
Tala-Maddale is an impromptu (extempore) drama constructed based on the poetry of Yakshagana. The lifeblood of Tala-Maddale is the vocal acting (Vachikabhinaya) of a reinterpretation of a context from the Puranas. This unique verbal art exists only in Kannada. Tala-Maddale is an occasion where speech transcends words to become art.
