Talk on ‘Dementia’ at Science Sanje tomorrow

As part of ‘Science Sanje,’ Kalasuruchi and Kutuhali-Kannada have organised a talk on ‘Dementia’  in Kannada by Dr. Latha Diwakar, Principal Scientific-Officer, Centre for Brain Research, Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru on May 9 from 6.30 pm to 7.30 pm at Suruchi Rangamane in Kuvempunagar.

Profile: Dr. Latha obtained her Ph.D in Neuroscience on ‘Gender related difference in pathogenesis of neurodegenerative disorders: Role of mitochondrial dysfunction and protein thiol homeostasis’ at National Brain Research Centre, Manesar in Gurugram district, Haryana. A Postdoctoral fellow in NIMHANS, Bengaluru, she continued to work on animal model of ischemia and Identification of genetic risk factors in young stroke patients with high homocysteine to understand etio-pathogenesis of stroke.

Currently she is at the Centre for Neuroscience, Indian Institute of Science and has started working  on animal model of vascular dementia.
