Tanveer Sait urges State to shut schools, colleges

Mysore/Mysuru: Senior Congress MLA and former Minister Tanveer Sait has urged the State Government to declare a holiday to schools and colleges as precautionary measure amid COVID-19 scare.

In a letter written to Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa and to Minister for Primary and Secondary Education Suresh Kumar yesterday, he said that there is no time to waste in taking the decision, because it may lead to disastrous outcome. 

He said that most of the schools have completed the portions by this time and the students will not miss out on their education or the preparations for the examinations if the classes are called off.

He urged the teachers, parents and students to be thoroughly informed of the precautionary measures to be taken on the days of schooling during the exam.
