Tanzanian arrested for over-staying

Mysuru: The Vijayanagar Police have arrested a Tanzanian who was illegally staying in the city even after the expiry of his Visa.

The Tanzanian Aidan Emilian Riwa was staying in Vinayaka Nagar extension in Vijayanagar Fourth Stage. He had come to the city on a student Visa and it had expired on July 9, 2014. The Vijayanagar Police have registered a case against him under the Foreigners Act and further investigations are on.

Instructions to House Owners: Owners of flats, apartments, houses, home stays, paying guest accommodation, clubs and others while renting out their premises should first check the validity of the Visa and its expiry date. Also, they should upload the information within 24 hours on the website: indianfrro.gov.in/fro/formC, said Police Commissioner Dr. A. Subrahmanyeswara Rao in a press release.
