Taruna Bharathi Music Festival at Ganabharathi on Jan.31, Feb. 1

Mysuru:  Ganabharathi has organised Taruna Bharathi Music Festival, a programme for young artistes, on Jan.31 and Feb. 1 at its premises in Kuvempunagar. There will be two concerts on each day from 6 pm to 9 pm.

On Jan. 31, there will be two Karnatak vocal concerts by Vidu. Anjali Sriram (6 pm to 7.30 pm) and Vidu. Bhargavi Venkatram (7.30 pm to 9 pm). They will be accompanied by Vid. Pradeshaachar and Vid. Vishnuvardhana on violin and mridanga respectively.

On Feb.1 (6 pm to 7.30 pm), there will be  a Saxophone recital by Vid. P. Guruprasad accompanied by Vidu. Yashaswi on violin and Vid. Vikram Bharadwaj on mridanga. From 7.30pm to 9 pm, there will be a Karnatak vocal by Vidu. Pavani Kashinath accompanied by Vid. Keshav on violin and Vid. Vikram Bharadwaj on mridanga.

Bhargavi Venkatram: Hailing from a music family, she is the daughter of Vid. H. K. Venkatram and Vidu. Triveni Saralaya. Having started her learning from her parents, currently she is under the tutelage of T.M. Krishna. She has performed at Naradagana Sabha, Shanmukhananda Hall and various other Sabhas. She has bagged Prathibhakankshi and Kishora Prathibhe Awards.

Anjali Sriram: One of the promising young artistes, she is a disciple of Vidu. Nagavalli Nagaraj and Vidu. M.S. Sheela.  She has performed at Karnataka Ganakala Parishath, JSS Sangeetha Sabha, Swaramurthy V.N. Rao Trust and other Sabhas. She has many CDs to her credit and is a graded artiste of classical and light classical music of AIR. She is also a recipient of  Swarnakalashree Award.

P. Guruprasad:  Hailing from a music family, he is the son of Saxophone artiste Vid. R. Prabhakara and grandson of Vid. C. Rudaraiah. Having started his music lessons from his father and later from Vid. K.J. Venkatachar, currently he is learning from Vid. R.N. Taranathan. He has performed at Nadaranjini, Karnataka Ganakala Parishath and Ganabharathi  and is a recipient of Balaprathibhe, Saxophone Vadana Chatura, Kala Koustubha and Kayakaratna awards.

Pavani Kashinath:  She is the granddaughter of Harmonium artiste Vid. Arunachalappa. Her father Vid. Kashinath is a khanjira artiste and mother Vidu. Pushpa Kashinath a veena artiste.

She is a disciple of Vidu. Chandrika and Vidu. Neela Ramgopal.  Being an A Grade artiste of   AIR, she has performed in Sangeetha Sammelanas, Karnataka Ganakala Parishath, Madras Music Academy among others. She is awarded with Ganaratna, Prathibhaakankshi and Ragashri.
