Mysore/Mysuru: The Department of Public Instruction, District Administration and Zilla Panchayat (ZP), Mysuru, have jointly organised District-level Teachers Day celebrations commemorating first Vice-President of India Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan’s birth anniversary celebrations at Kalamandira on Hunsur Road in city tomorrow (Sept. 5) at 10 am. District-level Best Teacher Award will be presented on the occasion.

District Minister S.T. Somashekar will inaugurate the programme. Chamaraja MLA L. Nagendra will preside. Mayor (in-Charge) Sunanda Palanetra, MPs Pratap Simha, V. Sreenivasa Prasad and Sumalatha Ambarish, MLAs, MLCs, Chairmen of various Boards and Corporations will be the chief guests.

Sri Nataraja Pratishtana – Sri Nataraja Educational Institutions, Sri Hosmutt, will be celebrating Teachers Day at Sri Nataraja auditorium in its premises at 10.30 am tomorrow. Pratishtana President Sri Chidananda Swamiji will grace the occasion. MLC Dr. D. Thimmaiah will inaugurate. Retd. Tumkur University Vice-Chancellor Dr. Y.S. Siddegowda will offer floral tribute to the portrait of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. Pratishtana Special Officer Prof. S. Shivarajappa will preside. P.C. Mahadevi, senior Assistant Teacher, Sri Gowrishankara Higher Primary School, Sri Nataraja Pratishtana, will be felicitated on the occasion.

University of Mysore has organised a lecture programme on the topic ‘Achieving success’ by Swami Adityanandaji of Chinmaya Mission, Mandya, at Vijnana Bhavan in Manasagangothri premises tomorrow at 11 am to mark Teachers Day celebrations. NIMHANS (National Institute of Mental Health And Neuro-Sciences)-Bengaluru Director Dr. Pratima Murthy will be the chief guest. Mysore University VC Prof. G. Hemantha  Kumar will preside.

Nanjangud taluk will be celebrating Dr. Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Swamiji’s 107th Jayanthi Mahotsava and Teachers Day at its premises tomorrow at 9 am. Baradanapura Sri Mahantesha Pattada Mutt Seer Sri Parashivamurthy Swamiji will  grace the occasion.

Suttur JSS Institutions Administrative Officer S.P. Udayshankar will preside. Retired Engineer Gurukar Puttabuddi will offer Nudi Namana. Retired Chief Engineer M.C. Shashidhar will be the chief guest.
