Teachers Day tomorrow

On the occasion of former President Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan’s birthday, the District Administration, Zilla Panchayat and the Department of Public Instruction will be celebrating Teachers Day tomorrow at Kalamandira on Hunsur Road in city from 10 am. District-level Best Teacher Award and felicitation to retired teachers will be held on the occasion. District Minister Dr. H.C. Mahadevappa will inaugurate.

MLA K. Harish gowda will preside. Mayor Shivakumar, MPs Pratap Simha, V. Sreenivasa Prasad and Sumalatha Ambarish will be chief guests. MLAs Tanveer Sait, G.T. Devegowda, G.D. Harish Gowda, Darshan Dhruvanarayan and T.S. Srivatsa, MLCs Marithibbegowda, A.H. Vishwanath, Dr. D. Thimmaiah and C.N. Manjegowda and Deputy Mayor Dr. G. Roopa will be guests of honour. Lecturer N.M. Shivaprakash will deliver keynote address.
