Teacher’s gold chain snatched in city

Mysore/Mysuru: A miscreant has snatched the gold mangalya chain of a lady teacher near SBM Employees Layout on T. Narasipur Road yesterday morning.

The teacher who lost her gold chain is Premakumari. She is working at Hadajana Government School in the taluk.

Yesterday at about 9.30 am, Premakumari was proceeding towards her School on her scooter when a miscreant, waylaid her at a deserted place near SBM Employees Layout, snatched her 40 grams gold mangalya chain and fled from the spot.

When the miscreant snatched the gold chain, the chain broke into two pieces and the miscreant fled with about 26 grams chain and gold pendant leaving about 14 grams of the broken gold chain behind, according to the complaint.Varuna Police, who rushed to the spot, conducted mahazar, registered a case and are investigating.
