Teachers urged to safeguard professional ethics

Mysuru:  The true hallmark of teaching profession largely depends on teachers practicing professional ethics, said Dr. N. N. Prahallada, Retired Associate Professor in Education, Regional Institute of Education (RIE), Mysuru, while inaugurating a 13-day orientation programme on “Professional Ethics and  Indian Constitution” for the faculty of Governemt Polytechnic Institutions from Karnataka organised at Nagamangala Polytechnic recently.

Dr. Prahallada, in his inaugural address, urged the teachers to maintain and practice high standard of professional ethics so as to raise the tone and tenor of the teaching profession.

Teaching among all the professions is the noblest and therefore every care must be taken to protect its name and fame, he said and added that importance must be given to the process part of education rather than its product.

Ganga Ram, Principal, Government Polytechnic, Nagamangala, presided and called upon the participant teachers to be honest in carrying out the work entrusted to them with interest.

Lokesh was the Coordinator of the orientation course attended by as many as 30 Polytechnic teachers from Hanagal, Bagepalli, Nangamangala, Hosadurga, Udupi, Hassan, Bengaluru, Channapatna, Devadurga, Himmadihalli, Mirle, Hiriyur, Channasandra, Chamarajanagar, Chinthamani  and KGF.
