Minister Somashekar reviews COVID-19 situation
Mysore/Mysuru: Co-operation and District in-Charge Minister S.T. Somashekar has directed Officers to personally visit all 34 Private Hospitals which are supposed to give 50 percent of beds to the Government and give an accurate report on the actual availability of beds.
Reviewing COVID-19 situation at a meeting held at Zilla Panchayat auditorium here on Tuesday, he said the team, consisting of a Revenue Officer, Police and a Doctor must visit all 34 Private Hospitals and check whether those hospitals have complied with the Government order on reserving 50 percent of beds for COVID positive patients.
“I am thankful to those hospitals which are offering good treatment for patients. At the same time, notices must be served on those Hospitals that have failed to co-operate in this crisis situation,” he noted.
The Minister said Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa has thanked Suttur Seer Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji for agreeing to provide 300 oxygenated beds to the Government.
Rush of Corona positive patients can be controlled if the number of oxygenated beds in Seth Mohandas Tulsidas Hospital, Beedi Workers Hospital and Super Speciality Hospital was increased, he observed.
He said it had come to his notice that the attendants of patients admitted to Covid ward in K.R. Hospital were coming in large numbers. This may spike positive cases. The authorities concerned must avoid crowding of people near the Covid ward, he cautioned. The War Room was getting more calls from neighbouring districts causing extra burden. More lines must be opened to take such calls, he noted.
