Tejaswini Gowda quits as BJP MLC

March 28, 2024

Bengaluru: With just a couple of months remaining in her tenure, BJP MLC Tejaswini Gowda tendered her resignation on Wednesday. Reports suggest that her decision stemmed from her disappointment over being denied the BJP ticket to contest from one of the Bengaluru LS Constituencies.

Tejaswini Gowda met with Council Chairman Basavaraj Horatti in Bengaluru to formally submit her resignation.  Confirming her resignation, Horatti stated that Tejaswini Gowda cited personal reasons for her decision.

“I have accepted Tejaswini Gowda’s resignation as she came and submitted her resignation letter while also mentioning the reason for her decision,” he added.

Tejaswini is expected to rejoin the Congress, the party with which she was previously affiliated before joining the  BJP several years ago.
