Ten-day-old abandoned baby rescued near Bilikere

December 2, 2018

Mysuru: A 10–day-old abandoned baby boy was rescued by Childline activists and Bilikere Police near Rangaiahanakoppal on Hunsur Road  last night.

The baby was rushed to K.R Hospital for treatment as he was suffering from mild health problems.  The baby was found wrapped in clothes and his face was left open and was abandoned by his mother under eucalyptus tree near Rangaiahanbagilu around 8 pm.

On a tip off from public that they heard a baby crying, Bilikere Police staff Raghu, Vijaykumar and childline activists Jyothi and Dakshayini visited the spot and rescued the baby.

The matter was brought to the notice of the District Child Welfare Committee which will take a decision of shifting the baby to a Shelter Home  after holding the meeting with committee members this afternoon, said Childline Activist Jyothi.
