September 29, 2019

Mysuru: The tent library, temporarily set up by the City Central Library in the Palace premises for the families of Mahouts and Kavadis, has proved to be a hit as the tribal families, including women members and children are looking up to it for gaining knowledge.

The City Central Library has set up the tent library for Mahout families in order to introduce them to the world of books. The library has over 200 books including books on fairy tales, freedom fighters, Gautama Buddha, Mahatma Gandhi and other iconic personalities and as well as newspapers, children books and magazines.

The library apart from promoting reading habits and inciting interest to gain knowledge by reading books and magazines, is also a centre of activity for children, where tribal children are taught many activities.
