Dhruthi T. Venugopal of Mysuru taking part in $15,000 ITF Women’s Tennis Tournament at Hua-Hin, Thailand on Wednesday won her women’s doubles quarter-final match and entered semi-finals.

The second-seed Dhruthi and Chieh-Yu-Hsu of Taipei, combined well and staved off the challenge put up by Watsacho Sawar  Dee and Dolavee Tumthong (Thailand) 6-1, 6-3 and entered the semi-finals. In the pre-quarterfinal, the duo beat India’s C. Nidhi and Rishika Sunkara 6-3, 6-3 to forge ahead.

In women’s singles event, Naomi Cheong (USA) scored a well earned win over eighth seed Dhruthi to enter last 8 stage.
