Thailand ITF Women’s Tennis Tournament: Dhruthi goes down to Sara Tomic in quarter-finals

Mysuru based Dhruthi T. Venugopal representing India and taking part in the $15,000 ITF Women’s Tennis Tournament 2017 at Thailand lost her quarter-finals women’s singles match against Australia’s Sara Tomic 2-6, 6-4, 2-6 .

In the women’s doubles semi-finals, Lorbergs Genevive (AUS) & Stefanie Tan beat Dhruthi T. Venugopal and Kanika Vaidya 6-4, 3-6, 10-8 and entered the final. In the quarter-finals, Dhruthi T. Venugopal & Kanika Vaidya beat Alison BAI & Chieh-yu-HSU (TPE) 7-6 (3),7-5.

In the singles pre-quarterfinals, Dhruthi had earlier beat Thailand’s L. Nicha 4-6, 7-5, 6-4 and sailed into the last eight stage of the tourney.
