The Importance of Internationals in IPL

September 16, 2020

From the very beginning India has been under the influence of the foreign and different. We could say it rose from the ashes like the phoenix when it gained independence, and the Western culture was the only gift of the 200 year oppression. Even our constitution is built from the positives of various other constitutions.

Changing our topic from history to sports, the Indian Premier League as one thing that is purely Indian, that is, it is held in India. The necessity of ‘Internationals in IPL’ is a topic that has faced many controversies. Some say that it enhances the overall excitement of the game, bringing in the international charm. Some say, giving international players more chance means neglecting the talent of our country by steals away their opportunities.

“Foreign players bring a different flavour to the tournament and add to the excitement, so it’s important to have them”, the legendary cricketer Sunil Gavaskar had said this, as quoted by IANS via sports star.

Indeed, for an expensive and festival of a game as IPL, the internationals are the cherry on the cake. Their importance cannot be denied.

International players being in the game bring in an inner competition. Not only do the teams fight to earn the trophy, but the internationals and national players also face each other. Also, IPL is not just about getting the big bucks in hand, but to compile a team that has good international quality to triumph. In fact, out of 11 or the 12 previous victories, there are at least 15 players who have been capped at international level.

Blending the west with the east- India has always been a hub of this blend. The Indian players have their own techniques and precision that they have surely mastered from training. But the international standards of playing and their techniques are something to be marveled at.

Factually speaking, for this year’s IPL some of the teams have paid a lot more for recruiting international players. On December’s auction this year, KKR recruited Aussie pacer, Pat Cummins, paying him $2.2m. Also, the West Indies international Sunil Narine is paid more than captain Dinesh Karthik. Similarly, Rajasthan Royals recruited England star Ben Stokes ($1.8m) and Australian captain Steve Smith ($1.7m) whereas it is paying Sanju Samson $1.1m.

So if you are die hard fan of international cricketers in the Indian t20 league, you follow IPL betting as well, you can choose such kind of top players like win the game.

Thus, internationals are indeed important for spicing up this exotic frenzy.
