The must watch children’s play comes to Mysuru

October 30, 2022

‘The Day the Crayons Quit’ to be staged on Nov. 5

Mysore/Mysuru: The much-appreciated and touted as a “must watch children’s play” by theatre critics in Bengaluru, ‘The Day the Crayons Quit’ will be staged at Kalpa Kshetra, Vijayanagar 4th Stage, in city on Nov. 5  at 4 pm and 6 pm.

The play is based on the best-selling book by the same name written by Drew Daywalt which has been adapted by Jugaad Co. and directed by Anna Thomas.

The play has been curated and brought to Mysuru by Anna Cherian, a practising architect in Mysuru under the name of ‘The Little Studio.’

 About the play

‘The Day the Crayons Quit’ is about how all the crayons in the box are protesting about something or the other. They all have a genuine problem and have had enough. So they decide to quit.

Using parts of the book, the team has used a bunch of visual elements to bring alive the problems of the crayons on stage, be it creating fire engines, waterfalls, seas, skies, Santa’s sleigh or a fashion show.

This play is 45 minutes of high energy and immersive engagement with kids as it transports them into the world of the crayons.

Popular songs have been modified to communicate what’s happening on stage and to get tiny tots to sing along with the performing team. The final song encapsulates what the takeaway from the play really is — “To try new things every day.”

Tickets are priced at Rs. 350 and is available on BookMyShow. For details, contact Mob: 98451-16915.
