Theeksha is MTBSA Muay Thai World Champion

Mysuru: City’s 15 -year-old Theeksha bagged the 2025 Pro-am World Championship in the Female Youth Feather Weight Division at the Muay Thai Pro-Amateur World Championships held at Pattaya, Thailand, recently. 

She created a history in Indian combat sports by becoming the youngest girl in the country to win a Pro-Amateur Title Belt.

She is the daughter of Dr. Ravi and Nandini, residents of T.K. Layout and a student of VVS B.M. Shri Educational Institutions in Kuvempunagar. Namrata Ravikiran, daughter of Ravikiran and Bharathi, won silver medal in Youth Female Bantam Weight Division, K. Kavyashree, a MMA coach and daughter of Kumar and Yashodha, won  silver medal in Female Bantam Weight Division and Akshatha Shanbhogue, a software engineer by profession and daughter of Ashok Shanbhogue and Uma Maheshwari, won a bronze medal in Female Feather Weight Division. On the occasion, an MoU was signed between Muban Chombueng Rajabhat University, Bangkok, Thailand, represented by Assistant Professor Dr. Chairit Siladech, President of the University and Academy of Martial Science, India, an affiliate of Muay Thai and Muayboran Sports Association (MTBSA), India, represented by Kru. Vikram, Country Delegate and Head Coach of the MTBSA Indian Team, to promote the combat sport of Muay Thai and provide valuable international experience in professional Muay Thai Education.
