Theft of electric wires at under-construction homes

November 12, 2024

Sir,

Recently, burglars have been targeting buildings under construction, stealing electric wires during the night. The wires are cut from sockets and taken away, ranging in length from one to three feet.

The thieves strip off the plastic insulation to extract the inner copper strands, which are then sold by weight.

Residents, particularly in Vijayanagar and Bogadi, have been suffering due to this escalating issue. It is imperative for the Police authorities to take immediate action to curb this menace and protect construction sites from further theft.
